IS/ISO 17088:2021 Testing Evidence for Compostable Plastics
Nature Biotech Company provides its CPCB manufacturer certificate and CIPET test report as supporting compliance evidence for compostable packaging. The CIPET report records testing of the submitted compostable-film sample as per IS/ISO 17088:2021.
This page explains the scope of those documents. It does not state that Nature Biotech Company holds a BIS product-certification licence or permission to use the ISI mark.
The Bureau of Indian Standards lists IS/ISO 17088:2021 as “Compostable plastics — Specification (Second Revision).” Reference to testing under this standard is not the same as permission to use the BIS Standard Mark, commonly known as the ISI mark.
Nature Biotech Company holds CPCB Certificate No. CPCB-UPC-II/M/s Nature Biotech Company/Andhra Pradesh/875, issued on 14 May 2026 for manufacturing and selling compostable carry bags in India, subject to the conditions stated in the certificate. The certificate includes a labelling condition referring to IS/ISO 17088.
CIPET Test Report No. 241149, dated 4 March 2025, was issued by CIPET Kochi to Nature Biotech Company for the submitted sample described as “Compostable Film as stated by party,” Sample ID 240804. The report records testing as per IS/ISO 17088:2021 for the submitted sample and reported parameters.
The report contains results relating to:
• Disintegration during composting
• Ultimate aerobic biodegradation
• Plant-growth testing using paddy and tomato
• Earthworm ecotoxicity
• Regulated and heavy-metal parameters
Buyers should review the complete test report for the stated methods, observations, results and limitations.
The CIPET results apply only to the submitted sample identified in the report and to the parameters tested. They must not be represented as proof that every product, formulation or production batch has independently undergone identical testing.
The CPCB certificate and CIPET report are presented as manufacturer-compliance and laboratory-testing evidence.
They should not be interpreted as a BIS/ISI product-certification licence. Nature Biotech Company does not claim ISI certification on the basis of these documents.
Buyers, government departments, institutions, distributors and OEM or private-label customers may review the complete documents below or contact Nature Biotech Company for the latest applicable compliance records before placing an order.
